Elyana Javaheri

Timmons Group and ASLA

Elyana is a landscape designer and urbanist, currently residing in Richmond, Virginia. The primary reason she was drawn to the field of design and public spaces was her curiosity at the intersection of sociology, human behavior, and design. Her award winning master's thesis, "The Improvising Landscape of the Displaced" has been shared with and applauded for at conferences around the globe. As an immigrant herself, her main focus and passion for her research is the significance and importance of design for marginalized communities, and studying environmental psychology and justice. In her spare time, she serves on the Richmond 300 Advisory Council (the City of Richmond's master plan update), the national ASLA Associate Advisory Committee, and volunteer landscape designer at Storefront for Community Design.
