Dan Reed

Dan Reed is a writer, urban planner, and community advocate. He's worked with communities all over the United States to make their streets safer and more enjoyable places. His writing has appeared in publications including the New York Times, the Atlantic, Architect Magazine, Greater Greater Washington, and Washingtonian Magazine, where his "Cityscape" column appears monthly. A Silver Spring, MD resident, he's active in the community through his blog (www.justupthepike.com) and on the board of Action Committee for Transit, a 30-year-old transit advocacy group in Montgomery County. Dan has bachelor's degrees in Architecture and English from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
