Mobile Design Box is a model of interdisciplinary partnerships between neighborhood residents, local BIDS, grassroots arts organizations, Milwaukee’s DCD, cultural institutions, and the UW-Milwaukee working to convert vacant commercial spaces into temporary hubs for community, arts, and education. MDB is not just one pop-up in one neighborhood, but a network of neighborhood and institutional support structures that work to improve all three communities simultaneously.
